I am a final year student who is following the degree in  Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) at the department of English Language  Teaching (DELT) at University of Kelaniya.      My Teaching Philosophy       According to me, a teacher should be one of the comfort zones that a child can have in his or her life. Because in order to make the teaching-learning process a successful one the students should have a space to freely express themselves as they are and that is when a teacher can answer the needs of the students. It is more like how a well-skilled doctor diagnoses the illnesses of his patients. If the patient cooperates accordingly only the doctor will be able to do the treatments to cure the illness. Likewise, a well-trained teacher would be able to successfully diagnose the needs and the lack of language skills that the students have, if only the students are able to truly showcase themselves.   Reflective Summary         One of the continuing thoughts I always trusted that lingered throughout my internship was that I myself is learning even though my role is the teacher inside the classroom. Throughout my teaching practicum there were lots of strengths, lessons and experience that I added myself as a student teacher. By successfully engaging in the internship program, I believe I got a valuable chance to convert the theoretical knowledge I have been grasping as a TESL undergraduate of University of Kelaniya into practice.
